Personal Development & Dreamboard Workshops For Women in Durham Region & Clarington

Decide to Rise

Decide to Rise

I’ve fallen baDecide to Riseck into an old pattern this past year, and I realized that I needed to make a change…

As many of you are now aware, I made a BIG Announcement this week at my last Clarington Company of Women Dinner. I have stepped down as the Company of Women Chapter Director for Durham/Clarington.

When Anne Day, the founder of Company of Women, asked me to take over the Durham Chapter in January 2015, I have to admit, I was a little apprehensive. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to meet my minimum numbers for the restaurant, or be able to manage it along with MY NEW start up business…. I knew I’d LIKE it, as I have been running networking events for over 10 years, but I wasn’t sure I could do it justice.   However, Anne believed in me and trusted me to continue her vision of her organization in Durham Region, so I accepted and after my first meeting, I knew it was a great fit. Anne has been a fabulous support for me, and I’m grateful for her mentorship and friendship these last few years.

One of my proudest accomplishments of my career (so far!) was the amazing growth of the Durham Chapter. Previously, there were 8-10 attendees each meeting, after just a few months (and several locations!) the Breakfasts were selling out with 45+ women every month. In September 2015, after recognizing the need for networking in my hometown of Bowmanville, it was a natural fit to start a second chapter and our Clarington Dinners began.

I LOVE seeing new connections being made, partnerships being formed, support networks being developed, and more importantly, seeing strong , amazing women bloom and grow each month.

Running the two chapters has been very rewarding and joyful on SO many levels, but as I’m sure you can imagine, it has also taking up a LOT of my time and energy.  I mean A LOT!

I found that more and more of my time was spent building my Company of Women Chapters… and less and less of my time was going into MY business, Creating Inspiration. I had fallen back into old patterns of building someone ELSE’s business (been there… done that… 3 times!) AND wasn’t following my heart and building my OWN. After many months of deliberation, conversations with friends, mentors and coaches… I got really clear with what MY vision for my life and my business was. I knew then, that it was time to do what was best for ME… I DECIDED TO RISE to meet my own potential, to share my story and to inspire other women to do the same.

So it is with excitement (and a little sadness) that I announce my “retirement” from Company of Women as of the end of June 2016. My last breakfast meeting is on June 21st, I hope you can join me! (Click HERE to register) The New Chapter Director will start up breakfast meetings again after the summer, and as soon as all the details are finalized, I’ll be sure to share it with you all. I know that whoever steps in will make the chapter their own, and put their unique spin on things just as I did. I’m looking forward to attending the meetings as a participant AND maybe I’ll even get to eat!!

I CAN’T WAIT to share with you all of the wonderful Creative Expression Events, Dream Board Workshops, Discover You Intensives and Weekend Retreats that are coming soon! I’ll also be continuing with my “Inspired Networking” events where Women in Business can come together for fun, and inspiration as well as personal & business development while making authentic, true connections. I’m building my Tribe… and it’s “FF” (F*ckin’ Fabulous).

The summer… is going to be for self care, time with family and a whole lot of journaling and mind mapping to become even clearer on my vision for the future. I’m sure there will be a Dream Board or two as well!  I’ll be re-vamping my website and get myself blogging (which I’ve been attempting for the last year and a half….)

If you are not already on my mailing list, and you’d like to be informed of my upcoming events, be sure to SIGN UP HERE.

I’m very much looking forward to this incredible next step in my journey, and hope you will join me too. Thank you to all of my TRIBE who have been so supportive and encouraging me to follow my heart and do what I love. My journey wouldn’t be the same without you.

Let’s DREAM Big, BELIEVE in Possibilities (and ourselves!) and BECOME who we were meant to be.

Decide to Rise.
Much love… xo Jenny

What an inspiring resignation post. I say that because it doesn’t sound like you’re leaving (or losing) something but that instead you’re finally running towards your dream 🙂
